About Us
The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation (SCCASF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the lifesaving programs of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS). We raise critical funds to support veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter services, and behavioral enrichment—services that go beyond what municipal funding can provide.
Each year, SCCASF helps hundreds of pets stay with their families through emergency veterinary grants and low cost vaccination clinics We also fund free and low-cost spay/neuter initiatives to prevent pet overpopulation and reduce shelter intake. Thanks to our supporters, our county's shelter can focus on providing compassionate, progressive animal care while animals wait for their adoptive families.
While the SCCAS partners with the SPCA, the county animal shelter is the only local shelter to provide medical services, stray and owner surrendered animal intake, and animal control law enforcement mandated by city and county ordinances.
County funding currently falls short of the SCCAS operating budget; the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation exists to help close this funding gap.
By donating, volunteering, or attending an SCCASF event, you directly impact the lives of local animals in need. Join us in creating a safer, healthier community for pets and the people who love them.
