DESCRIPTION:September 29th and 30th\, 2018\, will be the kick off to Capitola's 1st Annual Beach Festival with something for everyone to enjoy! The community event will include a 5k Fun Run\, Horseshoe Tournament\, Lighted Nautical Parade\, Fishing Derby\, Sand Sculpture Contest\, Chalk Art Event\, Rowboat Races and more!\n\n\n\nSchedule of Events:\nSaturday\, Sept 29\n\nLittle Wharf 3 mile Fun Foot Run 8:00 AM   11:00 AM\n\nWharf to Wharf Race\, Inc. is introducing the inaugural Little Wharf 3-Miler. Saturday morning will start off with a point-to-point family fun run/walk starting at the East Cliff Village Shopping Center and running three miles along the Santa Cruz coastline\, before finishing in the Capitola Esplanade. Must preregister\, click here now. Shuttles will be available.\n\nHorseshoes in the Sand 7:00AM - Finish \n\nDoubles tournament at Capitola Beach in front of Zelda's Restaurant. Teams will be chosen by drawing names from a hat. Participants must pre-register here: Horseshoe Tournament. Check-in time 7:00 - 8:00 am. Sponsored by Zelda's\n\nLighted Nautical Parade on Soquel Creek Approximately 7:00 pm   8:00 pm\n\nSaturday will end with a parade of lighted barges between the trestle and the lagoon guided by designated Creek Marshalls. Float builders who wish to light up a barge must preregister   the number of barges is limited to 12. There will be no access to the trestle during the Lighted Parade. \n\n\n\nSunday\, Sept 30\n\nFishing Derby 6:30 AM - Noon\n\nRegistration begins at 6:30 AM near the end of the Capitola Wharf. Bring your own fishing poles. Open to all ages. Final Tally begins at 11 AM. Sponsored by Paradise Beach Grille\n\nSand Sculpture Contest 8:00 AM to Noon at Capitola Beach \n\nRegistration begins at 8:00 AM on the beach. Trophy judging will be held at Noon.\n\nSponsored by Capitola Self Storage\n\nChalk Art on the Seawall 9:00 AM - Noon\n\nSign up at Esplanade Park. Children preschool age and above are welcome to create their own masterpiece atop the seawall on the Esplanade for all to enjoy!
